Ahwatukee Orthopedics
Thank you for visiting Ahwatukee Orthopedics.
Our office offers conservative, nonsurgical treatment of orthopedic problems. We care for patients of all ages. We have more than 25 years experience in treating orthopedic conditions. Conservative treatment usually includes modalities short of surgery, such as; medications, orthotics/casting, injections or physical therapy. Orthopedic diseases result from many causes, including but not limited to degenerative (aging, arthritis), trauma (contusions, fractures), and overuse (‘wear and tear’) conditions.
Generally, a medical history, physical examination and review of diagnostic studies (x-rays, etc.) help our physician arrive at a diagnosis and conservative treatment plan. If surgery is deemed necessary, either at the initial evaluation or as a result of failure of conservative treatment, the patient will be referred to a colleague for a surgical evaluation.
Appointments:
Ahwatukee Orthopedics
It is recommended that you call the office for an appointment instead of just walking in. Allowing walk-ins would be unfair to the patients who have set up an appointment time to see their doctor. We do realize that emergencies may arise but whenever possible, please call our appointment staff for an appointment time to assure that the office schedule flows as smoothly as possible for all of the patients. We will try very hard to work in patients that really need to be seen right away. Work-In patients will usually wait until we have a break in the schedule, a cancellation or if a patient does not show up for their scheduled appointment.
On your first visit to our office you will be asked to fill out about three forms. It would be best if you could arrive about 15 minutes early for your appointment so that you can get your forms completed and possibly be able to be taken back to the exam room to see the doctor closer to your appointment time. The forms are also required to be filled out if you are seeing the doctor for a new problem or if it has been more than a year since you have been to the office. We just want to make sure that we do have the correct information on each patient, especially the insurance information. Please also bring your insurance card and drivers license with you and a list of your medication that you are currently taking. Many insurance companies require a referral from your primary care physician before allowing you so see a specialist. We need to have that referral in our office before your appointment. Please check with you primary physician before the appointment date to make sure that they have sent this referral to our office to prevent any delay in you seeing the doctor. Please also let us know if you have had any x-rays or an MRI done on the same problem that we are going to see you for. Please bring those studies with you. We require a 24 hour notice for cancellations. A debit card number may be asked of you when you make an appointment and the card may be debited $ 35.00 if you do not show up for your appointment.
*Prescriptions are filled or refilled during business hours only.
